What to expect on Sundays…
-
When you arrive at Balbriggan Clubs Community Center, you will go through the front doors and you will be greeted by someone just inside (don’t worry, we try our best not to be awkward). Inside the doors, you will see the kid’s classroom area (more on that later) to the left, and the stairs leading to the doors straight ahead will lead you into our main space. Feel free to grab a seat anywhere! There are no assigned seats, no forms to fill out, and Bibles on the chairs if you need one.
-
When the service starts, someone will get up and welcome everyone from the front. They will usually read something from the Bible, and then introduce the first songs we will sing together. Don’t worry if you don’t know the song (on any given week, it might be new to us as well) and if you don’t want to sing, no one will mind. From there, the person leading the service will tell everyone what is next. There’s always a talk for our kids, and after that kids are dismissed to their “Sunday Special”, a time of teaching just for ages 3 - 6th Class. There is also an area in the back for babies and toddlers to play in. (All of our teachers are Garda vetted, click here to read our child safeguarding statement and child protection policies).
There will be a brief time of greeting while the kids make their way to their classrooms, and someone might introduce themselves to you. Don’t worry about making small-talk if you don’t want to, and this time is usually very brief as we transition to the rest of the service. From there, we will sing a few more songs, someone will pray for the world and people in our church and community, and there will be announcements. After that, the Bible passage for the day will be read, follow by a Bible talk from our minister Andy or whoever might be giving the talk that day. These last 18-22 minutes and are always an explanation of a passage of the Bible with ways that we can apply it to our lives. (To listen to previous Bible talks to get a better picture of what to expect, click here).
After the Bible talk, we will sing one more song, and then say “The Grace” together, which is the way we close the service through blessing one another. The words for the Grace will be on the screen.

That’s it! The service is over! But our time together is not, if you don’t want to leave just yet. If you have to take off right away, that is absolutely fine, but after we close the service, we will transform the space from meeting area to coffee shop. Tea and coffee and treats will be served (all completely free) and most of the church will stick around for a chat. That’s the best time to really get to know who we are and what kinds of people have decided to make this church their home (and the tray-bakes aren’t bad either!).
We hope to see you on a Sunday soon! If you have any more questions about who we are or what to expect, check out the FAQ's below or reach out to us through our contact form here.

-
When you get to know us at the Church, you’ll realise we’re not very holy either. We believe in a holy God who invites unholy and broken people to enjoy him and find new life.
